Welcome to our website. . .

Longevity and life time production: these have become the key words in this century's breeding world, almost every dairy farmer uses it to describe his breeding aims.

The bulls available from Foundation Sires UK have been genetically selected for longevity to assist dairy farmers and breeders in helping them breed longer lasting herds.

The major economic advantage of having cows that live longer is the reduction in the costs of raising fewer replacement heifers, therefore having more heifers to sell, in addition a herd of more mature animals will have higher production.

Some modern breeding techniques have led to sires breeding daughters with major health problems, they have been inadvertently selected for less healthy animals for generations, and this must impact longevity.

Foundation Sires' bulls are selected to breed the cow that grows 'naturally', calves easily, breeds back easily and produces easily, with little stress; an animal with a combination of type, production, and health - that is the best way to produce a trouble free, long lived animal with staying power.

" To have longevity you must breed longevity".

We invite you to browse through our website where you will find bulls from dams with type and production for many generations, from cow families that are proven breeders.

Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you require advice or would like to receive a copy of our 2006/7 catalogue.
